Drug trafficking & possession

Trafficking even small quantities of controlled drugs can result in the mandatory death penalty. Never carry packages for strangers, ever.

Only permitted in designated smoking zones. Lighting up anywhere else is an on-the-spot fine. No exceptions for tourists or new arrivals.

Chewing gum ban

Importing or selling chewing gum is prohibited. Only therapeutic gum (prescribed by a doctor or dentist) is permitted in Singapore.

Do not photograph military installations, government restricted zones, or Changi Airport security areas — penalties include immediate arrest.

Night-time noise is an offence. Racial or religious insults are criminal under the Sedition Act — not just socially inappropriate.

Riding bicycles on pavements or operating without lights at night is prohibited. Riding under influence is criminal. Helmets required.

Unauthorized entry into private property, even accidentally, can result in arrest and prosecution. No warnings for first-time offenders.
